F-5 Agressors Blue Schemes

Recommended Posts

Hello,

This is my first topic on ARC. My name is Philippe, I'm 40, I live in Paris, France, and I've ben modelling for the past 20 years.

Here is my question : I wonder what are the exact colors and/or differences between Agressors Old Blue and New Blue schemes.

As per Twobobs decals instructions, Old Blue colors are FS 35414 / FS 35164 / FS 35109 (+ FS 35622) and New Blue colors are FS 35414 / FS 35164 / FS 35190, with the New Blue scheme being wrap around.

As per Afterburner decals instructions, Old Blue colors are FS 35414 / FS 35164 / FS 35190 and New Blue colors are FS 35414 / FS 35164 / FS 35109 and no FS 35622, both Old Blue & New Blue schemes being wrap arounds.

Where is the truth ? Is there a typo here or what ? And what about the wraparound ? Any clue ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Best regards

Philippe

Old Blue contains 35190, New Blue contains 35109 - 35190 is a bright light blue and 35109 is dark. It would seem that Afterburner is right on this one, the Two Bobs diagrams are correct but there is typo on the number. As for the wraparound, I'm only aware of it on New Blue.

I suggest having a look here:

http://www.jpsmodell.de/dc/main_e.htm

Go to the F-5 secion and you'll see a number of the "aggressor/adversary" schemes.

Among them:

I can't say who's right and who's wrong, but you may find some info that will help with your decision.

Hello,

Thanks all for the answers.

Don, I had a look at your link. Very useful (not only for the topic) but according to it both Old Blue and New Blue schemes should have the same three colors (FS 35109 / 35164 / 35414) whereas according to Twobobs and Afterburner we should have either FS 35109 or FS 35190 / 35164 / 35414  :crying:

BUT ... at least it matches Twobobs about the wraparound.

Thanks again, I'll continue to search for informations.

Philippe
