Helo_Dud
Here is something I've been working on, Burnt Abrams for my HET truck and trailer. I still need to add in burnt and melted gear followed by some weathering. I also plan on grounding down the track pads so that they look as the rubber burned off. As for my reference I found 11 photos that I went by. I was being loaded onto the trailer by two cranes. I mixed up Tamiyas paints and used rubber cement to block in paints. The blast panels and some of the side skirts will be chained on top of the hull later on. Happy Modeling, Joe
Tricose
WOW! Nice work Joe. Did the Abrams take a IED or a direct hit for that kind of damage? Any chance of posting a couple of the actual pics of the real one? Thanks.
Helo_Dud
Abrams Thanks man! Here is my photo album that has two pics plus some in progress pics. If you want more of the real tank let me know. Happy Modeling, Joe Edited October 27, 2012 by Helo_Dud
Tricose
That is some serious damage in the photo's! You're really duplicating it well in model form! Keep posting more as you go along Joe! And sure if you don't mind I would like to see some more on the damaged Abrams. Never imagined it could really take that bad of a beating, and even be "recovered"? Edited October 27, 2012 by Tricose
Youngtiger1
Joe, that is awesome. I remember seeing MIG Production had a burnt pigment set. Is that the two jars in your link? TIA Mike
Helo_Dud
Thanks guys! As to the two jars Mike, they are paints. They are the two different browns you see. I mixed Tamiyas NATO Brown with Flesh to get the two colors. More pics coming soon! Joe
