salvine
Are kits from the late 80's the same basic tool of the new boxings? looking at kit F-16C 06103 and wondering if would be a good doner for new versions like a Barak.
LoganTLR
Hi Mid 80's IIRC, I did mine up Montana ANG IIRC (sorry out of town). The plastic is pretty much the same. IIRC the updated the mold for the "NIGHT FALCON" release but its lineage is certainly obvious. Those who track these things will be able to provide more details but there you have it. The new releases date back to the original and lack many of the latest bumps and lumps. Still, a good representation can be built OOTB if you are not overly concerned about the minutia. Dmanton300
The 72nd kit dates from 1983 and the 48th from 1985.
veliko_pile
what would be the best kit for doing a F16 I Sufa, and what about the Barack? Hasegawa or Tamiya?
salvine
Thanks. Looking at 48th See here.... http://s362974870.onlinehome.us/forums/air/index.php?showtopic=256402
veliko_pile
I saw that post, it's not possible to convert a Tamiya F-16 with a resin conversion set for the Sufa? Or Tamiya don't even have a two seated version?
Jennings
The 72nd kit dates from 1983 and the 48th from 1985. Maybe the other way around? I can tell you for *certain* the 1/48 F-16A came out in 1983, because I can tell you where I was living and with whom at the time I got it, and I was still in college (graduated December '83). Netz
what would be the best kit for doing a F-16 I Sufa, and what about the Barack? Hasegawa or Tamiya? For the Sufa, either the Tamiya conversion (Kit bash with the Hasegawa Sufa) or Hasegawa Sufa with aftermarket pit, gear wells and exhaust. Barack "C" model = Tamiya. Jennings
I know 100% it was 1983. I only lived in that apartment for a year, and it was before I graduated in December '83, so that pretty well narrows it down to sometime during the year.
Camus272
Habu's site list the 1/48th as 1983 and the 1/72 as 1985 Brian
