Waltz41
Hey, Looking to finish off a couple of 1/48 A-10s on the bench now, and would like to use some rocket pods (lau-68 or 131 i think?) and a Suu-25 flare pod seen in OIF/OEF. Any ideas? I know mentioned somewhere there's good rocket pods from a 1/48 Huey kit?.....the ones that come with the Italeri kit are too big, don't look right. And for the flares, currently don't know of anyone making that or included in any kit....what would be the best to use for a possible scratchbuilding (mainly want the right shape and size)? anything anyone can help with would be great, thanks. Benner
With regards to the suu-25, i used the 4-shot rocket pod found in the Hasegawa weapons set B. I believe the flare pod used the same basic pod but had 2 flares per rocket tube that would be ejected out the rear of the pod. you will have to shape a front fairing of course. KursadA
There are very acceptable 7-shot 2.75" rocket pods in the 1/48 Italeri AH-1W and Roden OH-1 kits. You might want to ask folks if they have any in their spare part boxes. Edited October 31, 2012 by KursadA
