TonyT
Sorry, I can´t follow you on that... Any chance to expain it to "ze dumb german"? ;)/> HAJO Rear pylon should be like this http://i536.photobucket.com/albums/ff321/taylortony/image-4.jpg Picture from http://www.abpic.co.uk/photo/1204922/
Hajo L.
Thanks, now I understand... Will try to correct that. HAJO
norbert
Hi Hajo Nice progress on this helicopter Adding figures is not always the easiest Norbert
Jabba29
Thanks, now I understand... Will try to correct that. HAJO Hello again. Sorry to say this but I have had another look at the photo of your model and almost all of the etch metal grills that you have added to the airframe is also Mk2 Chinook style only. The bits on the forward pylon are not required and the bits on the top of the rear pylon could be moved a little more forward. I will try and find a photo to show this. Hajo L.
Oh oh.... ;) Well, in this case we need to exercise some artistic licensing. I fixed the rear pylon following your advice: I also added a couple of antennas and stuff, I was happy to find some old RWRs and Flare/Chaff-launchers from a Matchbox/Revell-kit. Jabba29
Nice recovery, keep up the good work.
arkhunter2002
Lookin good. Where'd you get the British soldiers from? And who makes the kit? Take care, Austin
Hajo L.
It´s the Trumpeter kit I´m using here. The two sitting Brits are partially from Revell (the upper torso) and Preiser (sitting legs). The standing soldier is from Cesar. HAJO
arkhunter2002
Nice. How's the trump kit? I've never seen one in person. Take care, Austin
Hajo L.
Quite good, very easy fit, but you need to do a couple of adjustments to make a HC1 out of it. Interiour detail in the cargo bay is not existent, but that can be easily changed if you´re into scratching stuff. I can recommend that model. HAJO
Hajo L.
Tomorrow I´ll start painting! HAJO
Hajo L.
Some pictures from monday evening: Yesterday he got a black belly, today (no pictures yet) I painted the big black disruptor pattern stripes. HAJO
dæn
Great job so far Hajo! How did you taped off the windows with the gun installed? Or didn't you glued the guns before painting? Danke :) Daan
Hajo L.
If you paint with a brush you don´t need to tape anything... :) HAJO
Hajo L.
Disruptive pattern (big parts) are up! Same goes for the sand-filters, HF-antennas and the IR-countermeasure-systems. HAJO
Jabba29
Nice paint job, especially the cockpit windows. One thing, the model that you show does not have sand filters fitted, but the normal engine screens that are fitted for day to day flying. The sand filters look totally different. Hajo L.
Roger, so the pieces are correct, I just named them wrong? HAJO
dæn
Nice handpaint! What brand do you use?
Hajo L.
You mean the colors? Revell Acryllics. Here is a first test-run for the small disruptive pattern, I used the cargo-ramp and I´m quite pleased with the result: It may look like a PITA to do, but this is actually the part of the build I´m going to enjoy most! Hajo L.
This is the result of one hour of happy painting with a brush size 1: HAJO
Jabba29
Roger, so the pieces are correct, I just named them wrong? HAJO What you have fitted to your model are the normal Debris Screens, not the Sand Filters. The Debris Screens were removed from the aircraft and the Sand Filters fitted in the UK before they were transported to the gulf region. These were then removed on return to the UK, that is why the Debris Screens fitted to your model are painted grey rather than the sand colour. I do really like the black disruptive pattern that you have applied to your model. I do know that this was randomly done by the ground crew out there with a 4" paint brush, black paint and a lot of imagination. Hajo L.
OK, some minor things (winch, antenna, landing lights) are in the process of beeing fitted, but now I can already present you the status of today afternoon: This picture is intentionally dark to get an idea how this chopper looks like while beeing on a night mission. I was in a modellers heaven: Family was out, a nice model on the desk, and music on my headphones, among them "Nightrain" of Guns'n'Roses and "Paint it black" of the Rolling Stones... Quite fitting! Rotorman
Amazing brush skills. I really dig your helo. Great build. Oliver
arkhunter2002
Nice! Is there a combo of OD and Black over the sand, or is it just black? Any idea what's next? Merry Christmas & Take Care, Austin
