indydog
I have always wanted to try my hand at figures, so I picked this up at a swap meet awhile back on the cheap. If I screw it up, no big loss. It's quite a simple kit with very few parts. Attaching the head left a very large step. First round of filling and sanding. I tried to carve a reasonable presentation of the folds. Some primer applied to check my progress. The base presents a special problem. Since I'm a ship and car builder, I have no idea how to paint this. I'd like to come up with something like this... Anyone have any tips? Maybe point me to a "how to"? HOLMES
indydog, Oh MY that looks quite a challenge. I think you will do a good job for sure.
indydog
Work progresses on the base for my dragon. This is after the first application of groundwork. The rocks were painted in MM primer first, then drybrushed with lighter shades of gray. The dirt was painted a dark tan first, then the rocks were added using a deluted white glue mixture. The "moss" areas were also painted dark tan and then the grass was applied the same way as the rocks. After it dries, I will go back and fill in any empty spots. indydog
The arms don't fit too well. After 2 applications of filler, I got a reasonable fit.

HOLMES
I forgot to post a finished photo! :whistle:/> Here's a link to my finished dragon: My Dragon Indydog it looks good. :jaw-dropping: The end result is very good ..I just think that the dragons dark blue, or dark body could have done with sone shading..you know to show different tones. If you look at your own arm ir hand in light you will see that there are shades of tones of skin color. But saying that it might be MY computer .. The base is excellent. I think you did a great job to say you don't do figures...
indydog
No, not your computer Holmes. I could have added some shading, but I figured for my first figure, why push it and possibly muck it up? Maybe the next one...
