1/32 Albatros Nail Head Decals

Recommended Posts

On clear varnished plywood Albatros fighters, there are rows of nail heads prominently visible. These are not represented on any of the available 1/32 Albatros kits, and I puzzled over how best to represent them. I tried a pounce wheel, but was not satisfied, so I thought I would try making my own decals. The experiment worked so well I have decided to make them available to everyone.

These are laser printed on a continuous clear coat water slide decal film. The paper is the same outstanding quality paper used by F-Dcal. The clear film is very thin and responds perfectly to any kind of decal setting solution, although this is not needed for the smooth surfaces of these aircraft. The nail heads are spaced using close-up photos of a preserved D.Va.

You get a full 8.5 x 11" sheet of decal paper with perfectly spaced nail heads. That comes out to over 400 scale meters (nearly 1400 scale feet), enough to do several 1/32 models with plenty to spare.

They may be ordered directly from me for US $10 for a sheet, plus $2 (US Zip Code addresses) or $5 (overseas) for postage. Paypal only please, to:
