Lucas
I´m starting this new project (from Easter Express kit). The manual (as usually from easter express :( ) don´t give any good indication of colors, they just say "grey" I found some pictures of the subject, and now I would like to know if it is only one grey, or two greys. At this pic looks line just one grey: http://77rus.smugmug.com/Military/43TsBPiPLS/i-wzDPL2R/0/O/Dyagilevo_part2_18.jpg http://russianplanes.net/id28821 But this pic looks like that are two greys! http://russianplanes.net/id45624 here some more pics: http://vitaly.livejournal.com/131608.html So my question is: Wich grey? Aree just one or two? The tips of the wings are a bright orange, wich color can I use? Thank you for all information!
Jennings
The first thing to know about Soviet/Russian aircraft is that there are no rules. That said, I've never seen or heard anything except that UBL's are uniform overall grey. What color? Who the heck knows? The Russians don't have FS595. Look at the pics and pick a grey you like. Most Soviet airliners left the factory with the wing and horizontal stab tips painted fluorescent red-orange. That usually fades very quickly. In more recent years, they seem to have gone to basic (non-fluorescent) red during depot repaints. For the UBL I'd probably go with something akin to USAF Light Ghost Gray.
