stikpusher
This is a sidelined build of mine that I decided to pull out, dust off and resume with the goal of having it done in time for Decembers local IPMS Chapter meet theme of "Small Nations-any non US/UK/Commonwealth/German/Japan/Italy build subject". I will not be building it straight OOB as I found a few photos of Tirans in the Sinai during the Yom Kippur War of Oct 1973. The kit what I had done (except for painting) at te epoint that I pilled it off the sidelines more painting & construction additions more to follow as progress is made

stikpusher
Well I got most of the tracks done but am having a bit of difficulty closing the last bit of gap. and then I got most of the fiddly bits on the upper hull done and on the turret and all placed together it's finally coming together. I still need to do a few more tweaks...
stikpusher
Lots done in the past two days so without further ado... First off I went to AMPS chapter meeting on Saturday and brought this for my show & tell work in progress item. I was questioned and encouraged by a few members (Jim, John & Joe) about adding the fuel tank plumbing so yesterday I broke down and added that with some copper wire. today I primed it with Tamiya Surface Primer then yesterday and today I fixed the gaps in the upper track runs yesterday I made the brackets that hold the spare track shoes on the turret with some strip styrene
stikpusher
and yesterday after musing over the kits ammo can for the turret top .30 Cal. I decided that I did not care for that one so I used an Academy WWII .30 Cal ammo can out of my spares bin a scratchbuilt a new cradle mount around it. Basic work done yesterday and completed today and finally today, when I primed up the fuel tank plumbing, I also primed up the 105mm main gun barrel and here is is how it all looks all placed together yesterday and today Tomorrow a bit of gluing and then main painting can begin.... :naughty:/>
stikpusher
Main base coat of MM Acryl Israeli Armor Sand airbrushed on today. Not a good paint in my experience. Comparatively poor coverage and opacity. I need to go back and do some touch ups tomorrow.
stikpusher
Touch ups and detail painting completed. next up are decals and weathering. I also need to apply a final painting of Tamiya Clear Green over the various periscopes, sights, etc. But I have to wait for the base enamel color to dry a bit more first.
