john53
Done! The first armor I have done since the late 90's. It's also my first Russian tank and my first attempt at weathering. I hope I didn't go overboard. It's built OOB, painted MM medium green ala rattle can and weathered with brown, and black acrylic washes. I also dusted it with pastel chalk. I used black for the gun smoke on the barrel and the front mg area and also on the exhausts. I painted the exhausts burnt iron first. I finished it with an orangey brown light dusting around the turret and tops of the tool boxes. This definitely won't be the last piece of Russin armor I do.---John

john53
Thanks Holmes, but I think I made it a bit better, I hope. It needed more "character" so I added some more mud and rust to the spare treads and more brown and reddish brown pastel "dust" to the barrel, turret, rear deck and front deck around the head lights. I also added some rusty mud to the tow cables. I don't think it is over done. Some of the pictures of the real tanks in Russia during the spring offensives were so covered with mud and earth they were hardly recognizable.---John Edited December 20, 2012 by john53
