Zero Enna
I mean this one: The metal bolted center of the propeller. In this case it is an R.E.8's propeller. First I'd like to know the diameter of this part (an R.E.8's as I'm carving a propeller out of a piece of plastic and all will be around this part), and second, I'd like to know if this diameter was standard for all WWI engines or if it differed among engine brands. Thanks a lot in advance. Best regards. José. P.S. I don't own this pic, and it is used for discussion only. Edited December 29, 2012 by Zero Enna
Netz
I wouldn't be to concerned about exact dimensions,I'd just lay out the part using a good estimate. You didn't list a scale, but in 1/48 a 2 inch circle is .041in, 3" is .062,4" is .083, so were talking a .02 inch size increase in 1" increments, that is very small and would not be distinguishable to the naked eye, and forget about half inch sizing. I'd use those nuts as a size estimator, I'm sure they are 5/8th with a 1 inch washer, I'd use that 1" as my ruler. HTH. Curt
Zero Enna
I think I'll use a 2.5-3 mm disc to start... Let's see what happens. Best regards. José.
