IrishGreek
http://www2.canada.com/albernivalleytimes/story.html?id=6fac373d-43eb-44fe-a336-f373c2e40396 Thanks for the story. Made me do some google image searches. These old large flying boats by Martin and others were way cool!
Litvyak
Indeed they were - and loud! One day back when I lived in North Vancouver, I was out in the back yard with my sister, and all of a sudden we heard this enormously loud droning noise... looked up to see one of these fly over. It was quite the sight - and quite the sound!
Aaronw
I got to see the Hawaii Mars scooping water from a lake in Southern California back in 2000. They are impressive aircraft, good to know at least one will survive in a museum.
Lucien Harpress
Cool story. Kind of neat it's going to be repainted the original blue. Definitely going to have to make a trip down there to see it once everything's said and done.

Litvyak
Can't wait to see the final result... I have a feeling it's going to look great!
Liberator24
and as one of the museum's frequent visitors, I have to say it will be very well taken care of! -Jim
Lucien Harpress
Here's a photo of it being painted. Now THAT'S a pretty picture! (Don't get me wrong, the red is a sharp looking color too, but there's something to be said about bringing it back to 'original')
