This kit shows the range of products Boeing produced even before they gobbled up other companies!! The kit is the Bomarc A, liquid fuelled surface to air missle which was the first of 2 versions (second was solid fuel rocket), by Belcher Bits who also does the B version, which I built last year.

The pics, enjoy;

This also shows my quickie stand to display the kit, Mike also has a launcher for the B model available and I am working on one of those plus scratch an A model launcher for this bird.

Valom's kit of the unusual XF8B-1 Strike/Escort Fighter. This unusual aircraft was thoroughly successful in testing but was cancelled due to the lack of need for its very long range capability with the collapse of the Japanese military outside of Japan and post-war technological changes. It was unusual in being a true multi-role aircraft (capable of every offensive role then current for carrier aircraft except ASW) while still maintaining fighter performance. The only similar aircraft to enter service, the Blackburn Firebrand and Westland Wyvern, would both be significantly inferior performers despite comparable or more powerful engines (in the case of the Wyvern).

This thing is huge, being the size of a 1/48 Spitfire. Here it is alongside a P-47D, had the XF8B entered service it would have overtaken the P-47D's record as the heaviest single-engine piston fighter to see active service. It was however the largest single-engine, single-seat aircraft to fly in the US at the time

I finished my entry for this GB last-minute! It's a very dirty Baby Boeing from the Dark Continent of Africa. The aircraft is from Angola's national flag carrier TAAG and this particular plane is named Maiombe.

I had to cut up the original 737-800 fuselage and drill/file some new window holes to give the model transparent windows. I also corrected the upside-down horizontal stabilizer, the ugly engine inlets and outlets and replaced the winglets by BraZ resin examples.

The livery was mostly done by masking/airbrushing it and printing home made decals.
