john53
Here's the start of my Mass ANG Super Sabre. Cockpit is dark gull gray with black consoles. I am doing the intake trunking aluminum.---John
Spectre711
I was waiting for a Hun to join the build.
john53
:thumbsup:/> ---Thanks. Ihave the wings built and wheel wells painted interior green. From what I have seen and been told the interior of the landing gear doors are aluminum or if the plane were "reworked" could also be interior green. I will probably go with interior green.---John Edited January 13, 2013 by john53
john53
Fuselage and wings assembled.---John
john53
I painted the nose interior aluminum and added it to the forward fuselage. The kits trunking was a bit off so the nose and trunking don't exactly line up inside, not too noticeable but enough to bother me.I used the F-102 after burner exhaust as the Guard planes had these added to solve the problems with the original segemented ones.---John Edited January 16, 2013 by john53
john53
This just came in the mail super fast from Sprue Brothers! AMS nose plug to make Monogram's tanks 335 gallon. No instructions though, where do I cut the Monogram tanks? I think on the scribed line just in front of the pylon as is show in this picture?---John
Spectre711
Is that the same tank by these Voodoos? If so I would think that first scribe line would be a good bet. I really don't know for sure.

I love the F-100. I also like to learn something every day. So, here's our "little known fact of the day." One would think that the switch to F-102 engines may have come from a pilot or after a lot of study, etc. Due to the problems with the original engine with the "eyelids," an ANG NCO put in a formal request that the original engines be replaced with the F-102 engines. The request was OK'd and the F-100's engine problems were no more. Note: I wonder if the NCO got an incentive ride?
Spectre711
John, how is this picture for the tank conversion?

john53
Thanks for the picture, helps me with the detailing and painting! It now has slats and a tail. Only thing left is to figure out the resin nose for the wing tanks.---John
