Rodney
Just completed this Hasegawa P-40N 1/48 last night. I started the kit over the holidays and the build went quickly given some of the challenges of the kit. As many suggested, I connected the tail pieces to their halves before joining the two fuselage halves together. However, I still ended up with putty, sand, prime, repeat... After rescribing all the lost panel lines, I pre-shaded the entire model in black and used Mr. Color paint for the bottom with post shading. The top is painted using MM with post shading. Unfortunately, most of the post-shading got lost in the gloss/flat finish. The decals are from Eagle Strike and were definately not made for this kit. The shark mouth fails to meet on the bottom and I did some hand paining to get everything to meet up. The decal instructions state that there may have been scallops applied to the wing and stabilizers but I chose not to do this since I could not find any pictures showing it. Overall, an enjoyable build. Thanks, Rodney

Thunderchief105
I'm really liking this build, I think what does it me is the weathering. It looks great, not over done but gives the model depth and character. I'll admit I'm really not a big fan of the P-40 but this is a nice looking aircraft. The P-40 is not at the top of my list either but it does have some great nose art! I wasn't thrilled with the kits parts break down but I am happy to be able to model the different versions of the P-40. Rodney
