Trojan Thunder
I'll join in with the Welsh 1/72 Wedgetail. Yes and other B737! I had started some preliminary work on it a while a go but this is as far as I got. So onward and upward with the build. Litvyak
Never realised there was a kit for this. Welcome - I look forward to seeing the result!
niki4703
Wow!... The 1/144 Hawkeye Models Australia conversion set for the Wedgetail I have coming my way as I write this seems suddenly so... so tiny! It will be great seeing a Welsh 737 build shown/ explained step by step. I have always wondered what those 100,- EUR are all about! ;)
TheFlyingDutchman
Interesting!! I'm building the 737-700 version of this for almost 1,5 years now.. (click my sig). Are the wings and the wing/body/belly section one part in your kit or did you just dryfit them together for the photo? In my kit the wings are separate parts until the engine mounts. Trojan Thunder
My wings are one piece affairs. They were their early moulds. I have got some warping issues with my wings which I need to sort out before getting to work on them. I think Welsh may have modified the moulds to reduce/prevent the warping problems. TheFlyingDutchman
Very nice! Are you planning on upgrading the engine's exhaust cones? I tried to rework them on my kit but it's a hell of a job..
Trojan Thunder
I had not noticed an issue, but now you mention it I might just thin the trailing edge of the hot section. Edited March 12, 2013 by Trojan Thunder
TheFlyingDutchman
I would also try to replace the smallest exhaust tubes by real hollow (brass?) tubes. I think it looks better than the solid rods it has now :)

I am also about to paint the cockpit in preparation to fitting it to the fuselage when I can figure out the colours! Military and civil 737 cockpits look to have different colours. Fellow Hobbyist
Yes Wedgetail! Vacuform kits seem a fascinating category of model kit. May your build be a success Trojan.
Trojan Thunder
Making some slow progress. I have the interior painted a dark colour and installed the windsreen on side of the fuselage halves. I am also in the process of painting the cockpit in preparation for closingthe fuselage up. The wings are still slightly warped so they willl also need some attention soon
