Tgoetz
Any chance getting this in 1/72 also? Could use several on my USCG Hitron builds.
HeavyArty
Any chance getting this in 1/72 also? Could use several on my USCG Hitron builds. That is actually the wrong version of M240 for a USCG Hitron bird. The USCG uses M240Gs with a buttstock and pistol grip, not the M240D/H with spade grips. I believe both Propaganda Company and Goffy Models make M240Gs in 1/72. Edited February 16, 2013 by HeavyArty
norbert
Thank you Gino Do not hesitate if you think something is odd, to small, too big... I even found a big variation on the mount to gun commector, but with 2 pictures, hard to do it. Tgoetz, will look if it is not too tiny for smaller scales Norbert

Floyd S. Werner, Jr.
Are you good with this information or do we need more help? Floyd
norbert
Hi Floyd I made the vertical mount bar slightly thicker and slightly shorter Having diameter and length would be great, but it's detail nobody will see, and I may have to reinforce the thinner parts, will see. norbert
Hi Gentlemen When I was on it, I realized an armed MH-47 may have : 2 x M134 miniguns in front side door and window positions 2 x M240 MGs in rear side windows 1 ramp monted M240 MG So I made the version with buttstock for the 2 rear windows pieces, and I have a question : Is there an ammo can attached to it, or is this can under the window ? Have a nice week-end Norbert
HeavyArty
Yes, the M240G (w/buttstock) uses the same ammo can. It also attaches in the same manner as the M240D/H, with a pin at the front of the body. Either can also use the brass catcher bag on the right side too. M240H with brass catcher bag. GMK
Looking good - just need to thicken up the triangular linkage between the butterfly trigger and the 'normal' trigger. It's about 50mm thick, bolted to the left side of the body. Regards, Greg
norbert
Hi Gino Thank you for the pictures When I looked to the Primeportal MH-47G walkaround, I was wondering how the M240 MG was feeded. On other pictures, I saw the sidecan. It seems there is a new ammo box that fits under the window, but do not know if it is in operation. My ammo box is too short, I will make it a little taller. norbert
I went forward with the catcher bag One of the 3 types I found... But I think I will move to the one with cutted angles (pouch to be done in miliput) Norbert
HeavyArty
Looking great so far. I can't wait to see the actual prototypes.
GMK
I went forward with the catcher bag But I think I will move to the one with cutted angles (pouch to be done in miliput) Norbert Looking good! I think the spent link chute (from the right hand side of the gun) is a bit large and has too wide a taper. On a M240, there are two things that are ejected, each with their own port - the spent casing which are ejected out of the bottom of the body of the gun and the spent link (the bits of the ammunition belt that connects the rounds together into belts), which are pushed out the right hand side of the gun, from the feed-tray under the feed cover. The link is about half the length of the casing (which is 51mm, so 25 mm). HTH Greg Edited February 27, 2013 by GMK
norbert
Thank you Greg for your help That explain why the catcher bag goes under the holding frame I agree I have to work the spent link chute, too fat. There should be a hole also on top of the box just behind the chute I think I found enough pictures to work also the version Gino shows above. Norbert
hawkwrench
Looking great as always Norbert! I didn't know the CG had armed Jayhawks. I knew about the 65's, but not the hawks. Where are they used out of?
HeavyArty
I didn't know the CG had armed Jayhawks. I knew about the 65's, but not the hawks. Where are they used out of? They are also used for drug interdiction, just like the MH-65s.
