I think its kind of a non slip material.

It is a non slip graded material which is on the two boarding steps as well as on top of the fuselage over the intakes so that aircrew and maintainers can walk on the aircraft even with wet or oily boots and not slip.

Fantastic job. I hope that you don't take this as a critique. The anti-collision light on the rear fin tip of the starboard tail should be red, not green. The overall appeal of your build is high up on the scale. Your finishing techniques are excellent. It's weathered to the point of showing wear, but not overly so.
