mawz
This will be the Airfix kit of the F.22 Airfix Spitfire F.22 1/72 by mawz_models, on Flickr Markings are for two RAuxAF Squadrons, 603 in HSS and 607 as a racer in the classic DFS with red bands. I'll be doing the more unusual for a Spitfire HSS scheme, as it was an operational aircraft rather than a special scheme and because I dig the pre-war style squadron band markings. mawz
It's definitely a nice little kit. Usual thick sprue gates problem for the new Airfix kits but otherwise it's rather nice in engineering. And they managed to attach the control stick in a fashion that won't cause problems getting it off the sprue (unlike the new P-51D). Airfix Spitfire F.22 1/72 by mawz_models, on Flickr I started with the wing, going to paint the underside before assembly so I can mask off the formation lights. Spectre711
Any progress on this one? I was looking through some RAF Auxiliary stuff and thinking that there should have been a bunch in here and only remembered your entry.
mawz
Yep, got the airframe together and the filler on. Airfix Spitfire Mk.22 1/72 by mawz_models, on Flickr Apologies for the blur, wasn't paying attention to my shutter speed and IS doesn't make up for everything. I should be ready to start laying paint very soon.
