Roden 1/48 DH-4 Dayton-Wright

Recommended Posts

Thinking about getting this kit. Need a two-seater in my collection :D/

Anybody know if the Dayton-Wright version is correct for the 400 HP 'Liberty' L-12 engine?

Is the engine sprue different? Different radiator? Otherwise, kit seems to be accurate...

thanks

Description: WWI era de Havilland-design two-seat biplane day-bomber, American license-built variant powered by a 400 hp Liberty L-12 engine. Kit includes new tool parts (upper fuselage deck, radiator, chin louvers, prop, instrument panel, landing gear struts, cockpit floor and interior fuel tank).

Biggest disappointment for me was they kept the original DH-4 pilot/observer positions (separated by the fuel tank) and thus only allows the "Liberty" WW1 DH-4 to be built. A simple change in the upper decking would have allowed a huge amount of US DH-4's to be built
