1/48 Wolfpack Su-33 conversion

Recommended Posts

It was made in limited numbers. Look also for WindMark conversion. If i recall correctly WindMark was cheaper and better. WindMark and Wolfpack is basically same conversion but Wolfpack had their a bit different. WindMark was also limited.

Trumpeter could take their future 1/48 Su-27 and so bring us a SU-33 in sequence...

It would need a complete new kit for a Su-33 - it is so different from a Su-27

Bigger wing with double-slotted flaps and fold joint (even if not folded)

Different fuselage with canards, shorter tailboom, offset IRST and IFR probe.

New nosewheel - and fatter mainwheel legs (visibly so in 1/48 scale)

Shorter fins (not so obvious)

Diffent nose probe (not so obvious) - new Air Data probes.

I can't see Trumpeter doing a Su-33 - but, if the Chinese copy J-15 enters PLANAF service, they might be tempted.

They are doing a J-15 in 1/72 scale IIRC.

Thanks guys. Wind Mark and Wolfpack sets are the same thing? Which is better?

Do SprueBrothers have it in stock?

The wolfpack set is a legal "copy"

see here:

bloody php coding war or what? so annoying - good ol screencap:

phpwar_zpsaded4695.jpg

therefore "work by windmark" on every boxcover

For me, THE reference build if dealing with 1/48 SU-33:

From what I have seen the windmark has sharper detail and therefore is the better deal (confirmed by the builder Jon Fitzgerald). Why that is I don't know.

This is really odd. What is this? What I see/read:

Metal canards, canopy, landing gear, pitot tube - that's it.

Clearly NOT the windmark conversion set here:

Hands off I say until we know for sure!

Well, i think that is just "improved" parts. I doubt they will charge that for canopy, legs and pitot only. Fire email to HobbyEasy, Daniel there is very helpfull.

Maybe I missed something but on Hobbyeasy site there is no Su-33 detail set by Windmark. I only see Su-35 and Su-37. Maybe I am not in the right place? Just wondering if I am doing something wrong.

Thanks

I found it straight away by doing the search, and i posted the link in this thread.

I hope they (Wind Mark) will start to reissue their Su-33 set.

Mike

They have.

Now I understand (finally!)... Wolfpack set IS the Windmark set PLUS the following (upgrading) parts:

- Cockpit set w/K-36D Ejection seat.

- Late type Front Wheel bay.

- Late type Main Wheels.

- Sorbtsiya L-005 ECM pod for Su-33.

- Correct nose area.

So in which online e-shop could I purchase the Wolfpack set (WP48123)??

Thanks in advance.
