brewer
Hi all, Here's my 1/48 Hasegawa Typhoon. I used the BarracudaCast cockpit set, various Ultracast and Quickboost items, and some scratchbuilt details. All paints are Tamiya acrylics, and this was my first attempt at using Montex masks for the markings. WIP pics can be found on my Facebook page: Brewer Models Edited February 23, 2013 by brewer
brewer
Some levers are not yet installed in these pics, didn't want to knock them off while fiddling with the tub Edited February 23, 2013 by brewer

TommyP
A very impressive paint job indeed - I really like how you've recreated the very subtle differences in the paint shades. The only thing I would say is that the panel line weathering is a bit too extreme for my personal tastes - they are rather dark and therefore I feel detract from the overall effectivness of the finish. brewer
Thanks everyone! And Tommy, the panel lines did come out a little darker than planned, but it looks good in my display case so I'm happy with it! :) Brew
Rodney
Brew, Fantastic work! You cost me money, I ordered the Barracuda Resin sets after seeing your build. How did you like the Montex masks. I've bought a couple of sets but haven't used them yet. Did you have any problems with them lifting paint or not conforming? Rodney
brewer
Haha the Barracuda stuff is great! And it was my first time using the Montex masks as well. I had zero problems with them. I used this guy's tip from over on LSP: http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=16755

toniosky
Very nice build How did you paint these silver scratches on the walking band (sorry, can't remember the name in English...). Did you also use Tamiya acrylics ?
brewer
The chipping was done with grey and silver Prismacolor colored pencils, and yes, all of the paints are Tamiya acrylics :)

brewer
Thanks Chuck, I'm flattered! I watched your F-4 build with great interest, and I've been following every step of your P-51 build. I try to ignore all the drama and just focus on your tremendous work, so I can steal some of your techniques for my own builds :P
