Okay, Off and running, Went with Yellow Zinc Chromate for all interior except the cockpit areas which are Interior green. Off Black seat, pale gray scratch built belts and buckles. whereas this is an early -!a, I was highly tempted to use Salmon for the interior, but in future, I'll be doing another Birdcage, and want the salmon for that one. Gear doors will be white in and out, as that's the way they came from the sub contractor. have taken particular care to shade and highlight all interior areas to provide a better 3-D effect, and avoid the sameness that unshaded YZC would provide. FYI, I shaded with a wash of darkened Raw Umber. For highlights, I merely dry brushed over the raised detail with YZC lightened marginally with White. I used the Umber wash to shade the Interior Green also, and dry brushed Nakajima Interior Green over the high spots, gently. Gave me just the effect I wanted. Tomorrow, I'll assemble the cockpit. OIt is my intention to build a VF-17 bird from the early days of the Solomons Campaign, red surrounds to the stars and bars. Will use decals from EagleCals, but don't know if it'll be Roger Hedrick or Chico (L. A. City Limits)
