Procopius
Okay, I'm calling this one done, "at a certain point in time". RAF 74 (Tiger) Squadron F-4J(UK) Phantom II ZE350/T, shortly before an ill-considered first-ever-attempt at an enamel wash. Those of you who slow down to see the results of car accidents may also derive some enjoyment from how she looks now: I have learned some important lessons. ETA: Also, I think those triangular strengthening plates(?) are not present on RAF Phantoms, so this was probably a just punishment from the accuracy fairy. bashace
I don't know, call me crazy, but I kinda like the washed effect, looks like it just got back from a long deployment in the Falklands. Gratz on finishing a nice build! V/r Ron
Procopius
Phantom FG.1 XV571/A of 43 Squadron ("The Fighting ######") RAF, circa 1982. The real aircraft was far less heavily weathered, being the CO of 43 Squadron's machine, but as this is my first even moderately successful wash attempt ever, I'm going to let that slide. Quite honestly, this is the best-looking model I've ever built.

Are you diluting it, and if so, what with? What are you using to clean away the extra wash?
Procopius
I make many mistakes, but I hunger for novelty, I rarely make the exact same one twice. For the second one, I cheated, and went straight to the pros: I used Flory weathering wash in Dark Dirt. I think I didn't wait long enough for the Future to dry; I did the nose later, and it looks a lot better than the wings and fuse. I just used q-tips dipped in water to wipe it up. bashace
Gratz on finishing both kits Procopious, you can park either one of them on my shelf! Looks like the British are in the lead for completed aircraft. V/r Ron

phantom
Here are the first "Merican Phantoms. Phantom 162 is a Hasegawa F-4E using Afterburner decals.
phantom
Then you get Phantom 163. Another 1/48 Hasegawa F-4E, also using Afterburner decals. But this time notice the tail number. Its the same as Phantom162 was. Switched from squadron commander markings of one squadron to a line bird with the chiefs after its repaint.

phantom
Here are a couple that do NOT count as they were built for the "what-if" GB. Just thought I would post them for poops and giggles. That, and they ARE Phantoms.
