komoras
Sorry for my English in advance, but I hope you will understand what I want to ask I have this kit from Heller but the tailboom structural parts are too thick, I need the diameter dimensions (1/1 or 1/48), so I can scratch them to look something like this: http://www.scale-rotors.com/galerie/1-utility-helicopters/1046-aerospatiale-sa-315b-lama--heller.html does anybody know those dimensions or where I can find them? thank you :cheers:/>
Heloman
You could use brass wire if your soldering skills are good and construct one this way using the kit as a pattern. Otherwise plastic rod from one of the suppliers in the UK.
Aaronw
I don't know exact measurements but I've been upclose to a Lama a number of times. The Lama and Allouette II are very closely related so I expect the tail booms are nearly the same. I would estimate the larger tail boom structure (2 on top, one at bottom) at around 1" (25mm) and the smaller "latice" support at around 1/2" (13mm) or maybe even 3/8" (9mm). In 1/48 that would be 0.02" and 0.01" plastic rod or 24 and 30 gauge wire. While more work I think brass wire would be the better choice over plastic. The tail boom is a very light weight structure and I'm not sure plastic in scale would hold up as well.
