Fujimi's 1/72 A-7D Corsair II with Microscale New Mexico ANG Bicentennial , Spirit of 76 markings Looking at a photo from my A-7 SLUF reference book by David F Brown, ther are some different types of missile's on the underwing weapons rack ? Could any help in identifying what type they are . Edited March 17, 2013 by Helo
Pete
That's a LAU-88 triple rail launcher, which was used for the AGM-65 Maverick. A training Maverick can be seen on the bottom rail. You can find the launcher in one of Hasegawa's weapon sets.
Lancer512
Nice! Another New Mexico ANG subject! Gonna watch this closely, as I've got several Fujimi SLUFFs in my stash.
Helo 53
Thank you kindly for the help on the missile launcher and weapons I have some of those Hasegawa weapons sets and box number four seems to have what I need ; In the pic I posted earlier , it's hard to tell if one or two Mavericks are fitted ? This will be my second Fujimi A-7 build , the first was an A-7B "Ban Owls" with bicentennial markings . I'm looking forward to starting this one .
Lancer512
Only one missile on the bottom rail. Just as the bottom drawing in your instructons. And it's got no rear fins, as it is a training missile.
Helo 53
Thank's Lancer , It also appears in the photo od the New Mexico A-7D that there are no fuselage side missile rails fitted either .
Lancer512
Well, I can see something with a round nose between the missile and the fuselage (look at the blue stripe), but this could be on the inner pylon? Maybe MER with Mk20?
Spectre711
Any luck on getting started on this one?
