1/32 Crusader F-8E Y -racks

Recommended Posts

Hey Crusader-buff's

Is there a way to fix the wrong sidewinder @& zuni launchers in the 1/32 trumpeter kit?

Planning to build it with 4 zuni's duo packs but I don't like the wrong view of the Y-racks

Hope you van help me!

Rob

Looks like a little scratch building will have to be done.

Look HERE for a few line drawings, the bottom mount needs to be extended downward to be parallel to the ground, and the upper mount location moved to be 45 degrees off the shoulder.

Best I can offer.

Robb,

The right one (C-5) is more or less correct, so that one can be used as is, leaving you to modify the left one or scratch build a replacement. Here is a ph0to that may help.

Cheers,

Tom

Here is the pic of Y rack on one side with a single rail on the other:

THAT configuration is something I never thought possible. I'll try to get my jaw back in place after I finish writing this!

You could always leave the rails off:

VF-13 Nightcappers F-8D Crusader AJ-100

there was another pic i seen on Flickr of an F-8 with a Y rack on one side and a single rail on the other.
