Eric2020
I have been searching on the net for information on many airliners and the versions longer and shorter other wings etc. Its Just an idea would be to make an listing of airliners and how to get to the version you realy want to build, but have no idea where and how to cut in the fuselage or wings and what engine you would need to make it a good looking model. Military Designation C-22B Boeing 727 No change, this is a straight B727-200 (Airfix of Minicraft). One Minicraft kit actually comes with C-22 decals C-40 Clipper - This is actually a B737-700. bugs3144
Considering that a lot of commercial planes have been pressed into military service, most of the changes are internal and won't be noticed. Other than possible antenna for the E-4b, Air Force One, AWACS etc. Just take a commercial craft and paint it up in military colors. Frank ATL
Eric2020
Not in most cases. I create an listing for others as well, as its very hard to find info on where to cut an airliner and have it stretched or shortend. And I am not the only one searching for data on how to get an -200 from an -

bugs3144
But on the outside it is still a 747 and you don't have to chop or stretch or butcher to make a model of it. Look at some of the MC releases of 727, 757 in military paint. Still the same old Boeings just under disguise. Frank ATL
Eric2020
Just painting them up is the easy way out I think.
Trojan Thunder
Eric, Here is some info on what you do or don't need to do. I am assuming 1/144 scale. I love airliners in military service and have built the T-43 from the Airfix kit and am working on the KC-10 and KC-30A (A330 MRTT) kits at the moment. I have also converted a Revell B737-800 to a RAAF B737-700 BBJ Boeing 727 C-22B No change, this is a straight B727-200 (Airfix of Minicraft). Wild Weasel V
A-330 MRTT A-330-200 2x General Electric CF6 - For the forward section remove 21mm (and 5 windows). The forward cut line is basically flush with the forward edge of the fifth window. For the rear section remove four windows between two vertical panel lines just behind the wing root taper (about 15mm) and 4 windows. This uses the more powerful A340-500/-600 system and is shorter than the original A330-200 tail (pre-MSN0555). F-Decal have a sheet for the French AF (AdlA) A340 which includes instructions where to cut the fuselage to shorten it. They also have decals for the AdlA Caravelle and DC-8-62/72F. The Draw Decal website also used to have instructions on how to cut down the A330/A340 and 767 fuselages to get to the respective -200 versions but, at the moment, they disappeared when the site was upgraded. Hopefully they'll soon be restored. Several countries Air Forces have A318/A319/A320/A321s see here: Airliners.net search link (There are some civvies in there, but you get the idea :)/> ) A310s with CF6s are also flown by the AdlA and the Spanish Air Force (FAE). The Belgian AF had a A310-222 with PW JT9Ds and have operated the Embraer 145, A330-300 and 727-100. There are also lots of military transport 707s for example the C-137s, CC-137, not to mention the USN's E-6. The RNZAF also used the 727-100 and now have the 757-200 in service. HTH, Jonathan BTW Eric, there is no dash ' - ' between the A and 3xx in Airbus designations, it is always A300, A310, A320 and so on right up to the A400M :thumbsup:/> . angry_android
The Airfix 737 would require substantial modification to be made into a T-43. The T-43s were late production -200s and, as such, have all of the external modifications of the -200A. This means new pylons, removal of the blow-in doors, and extension of the Krueger flaps. Remember, the -300 was the fourth 737 variant, not the third. ;) Edited March 29, 2013 by angry_android
