Republic P-47D Thunderbolt (Bubble) - Tamiya 72

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Here is my latest P-47D Thunderbolt, built nearly OOB bar a few cockpit details and aftermarket decals.

They are Kitsworld decals. I have a good deal of their 1/72nd scale decals but this was the first time I had the opportunity to use them on one of my models.

Conclusion? Absolutely fantastic, sharp, well designed, well printed, adhere tighly on curved surfaces, thin but dense in colours. Probably the best decals I ever used.

A few details here :

Conclusion : that was a nice littlle easy project : yes these Tamiya Thunderbolts are that good.

I'll come later with daylight "in situation" pictures.

Hi,

Thank you all

Very nice. Thanks for the info on the KW decals too.

Ruud, I confirm KW decals, besides the sharpness or their pin ups design, really are top decals. That's a line that I will definately follow.

Cheers

Outstanding job!!!

I truly envy you - I have the Revell kit and I'm "trying" to finish it for the past 8 months BUT, every time I think i have finish with its painting job, I find a new scratch!!! Which means that I have to "clean" individual panels, re-prime them, and re-paint them!!!!

Anyway, you have build a fantastic P-47.

Keep up the good work!

Sernak
