Why is it that everytime I place a gif this sign (/>) follows afterward? This has been happening since several weeks ago and I wonder if Steve knew about it?

I don't know if this bothers anyone but so far it is becoming like cancer to this website.

It's just a bug in the forum editing software that occurs any time you preview the response, one set per each emoticon. It was introduced sometime this year IIRC. As noted, just delete the characters.
