Apologies if you have seen this build before and are getting tired of it, must say I am just very enthusiastic about my new camera. Big thanks to Chuck for inspiring me to finally get a good setup for the hobby, as you guys know his photography is outstanding.

Awesome work !! What brand of camera and lenses are you using for these shoots ??

Steve

Thanks Steve!I just bought a Nik-On (I have to spell it that way else the brand is registered as spam) D3200 this week, these and the Flanker pics are the 1st pics I am taking with the camera or any DSLR for that matter--so it's really very easy to use. I am using the standard lens that it came with A-FS Nikkor 18 - 55mm. I set up outside, it's a cloudy day so nice light for that sort of thing. I also used a tripod and all pics were taken with 10s delay to avoid camera shake.

:cheers:/>/>

Yessir, Your work is great. The painting looks like a 1/1 scale airplane. The decals look like they are painted on. I know that we will never be perfect, but your weathering is about as close to perfect as we will see. It's perfectly in the middle, if you know what I mean. It doesn't look "factory fresh," and it doesn't look overdone like some folks like to do. AND, there's nothing wrong with overdoing it. I know one guy that told me that those panel lines are there, and I'm gonna fill 'em up. That's what he likes, and more power to him. That's the nice thing about this hobby: we can build 'em, paint 'em, weather 'em, etc. 'em the way we want to. Heck,it's our model and we should build 'em for our enjoyment. However, your airplanes look like the real thing. BUT, the thing that really jumped out and grabbed my attention was the landing gear on your models. I can't think of a word to describe how great they look. I wish my landing gear looked half that good. Maybe that's why I display most of my stuff as "in-flight." Again, you have done justice to your models. Keep it up.

Wow Marcel! I never get tired of staring at your Hornet :worship:/> I must've looked at it 50 times for reference when building my Super Hornet and every time I was awestruck by the weathering & the cleanliness of the build :worship:/> Great looking pics too, the camera is well worth it :thumbsup:/>

A Nik-On user, well Marcell, I won't hold that against you, LOL. Thanks for the photo info and keep up the great work.

Never seen this one and all I can say is sorry I missed it. My, what a GORGEOUS model! Geez, I feel so inferior it isn't even funny. Have one of these big D model too and if I get something half as beautiful a result as yours I'll be happy. Really an outstanding job!

BIG thanks for all the feedback and encouragement on this build! The responses have motivated me to finish my Typhoon.

However, your airplanes look like the real thing.

Thanks Tim, that's of course the biggest compliment possible!

Hey Buddy,

I do believe this was the very first "Marcel Walkways" procedure using your cutting edge Rustoleum textured paint experiment. I've used it twice since then, so maybe you could re-do a little pictorial demo here for the guys who haven''t seen it before?

BTW, Your Hornet still rocks. Always did, always will.

As Chuck requested, here is a link to the in-progress page where I describe how I did the rough walkways on the Hornet:
