T.Moore1521
Made some progress last night. I got the fuse all glues together, wings glues together and glues to the fuse and he back stabs are glued together and on. She's all puttied up and ready to be sanded. I guess I can paint the wheels, engine parts, and gear struts while I wait for the putty to dry some more. All glued up. The 777-200 and the mighty 787-8 All puttied up. T.Moore1521
Good news came in today. My united 787 decals have arrived at my doorstep along with my revell 1:144 scale a330. Pics to come later on today.
T.Moore1521
I finally got some freetime to work on the 787 yesterday. I masked off the wings and sprayed the edges silver. Pics to come very soon. I also scanned the decals on my printer so i could get the most accurate line with the greyish color under the gold stripe (probably the hardest part of the build to me). Litvyak
Looking forward to seeing the photos of how the line turned out!
T.Moore1521
It was rough lol. But as soon as i get home from work i need to add a coat of clear coat and then add the decals. Ill post pics of it later on tonight.
Litvyak
Yeah, I believe that! Can't have been an easy job, masking that!
T.Moore1521
Landing gear glued on along with the unmasking of "The Line" Nothing that a little more masking and white paint can't fix.
Litvyak
I'm purrrrrdy sure that's a LOT better than I would have managed! Seriously, I like it. :)
T.Moore1521
Thats about the best i can get with the size masking tape i have; so I'll probably go to Hobby Lobby(the only "hobby" store in my city) to pick up some thinner masking tape and add another coat of each color. That'll probably be the best way to get that line close to perfect. And IF (BIGGGGG IF) I have time this weekend I'll try to add a little bit more detail to the landing gear. Thanks for the encouragement along the way on this build. I really appreciate it. I can't wait to see the ending result.
mario krijan
Looks promising! Nice subject!
T.Moore1521
Thanks Mario. After this build i have a Revell A330-300(Yes, the actual Revell kit), and 2 Revell 737-800's on the way; so that'll keep me busy for a little bit. But after all of those builds im thing of trying to do a A340 to A330 conversion or another 2 787 builds and maybe another 777 build. Then in October i'll definitely be ordering 2 or 3 A350 kits so that'll probably keep me busy for the end of the year.
T.Moore1521
I dont know what made me think of this but as this build wraps up i was thinking of ways to display the 787. The best and coolest way i could think of was to have it parked at an airport with te jetway attached to it. The only problem is id like the jetway to be scaled to 1:144 also. If anyone has some demensions or anything to help with this it'll be hreatly appreciated.
T.Moore1521
I still have some decals to put on(registration #, engine type, the tedious/small stuff), but I just wanted to show everyone the progress on it because I know some of yall are really looking forward to seeing the outcome of this build.

Now for some pics:

I still need to add the door decals on this side.

T.Moore1521
After working hard on this build for the past 2 days I've finally finished her.
Litvyak
Looks great - and I love the display! Is it a card model?
T.Moore1521
Thanks. Yes; the jetway is a card model and the "airport" background is a posterboard with textures i got off the internet.
