Spectre711
Started to work on this Fujimi F-4B in 1/72 Scale. I have some True Details wheels and AeroMaster decals for this one.

niki4703
Blurry as the above photo may be, the cockpit looks busy and colorful I'm still debating the ejection seat issue in the "American" Fujimi Phantoms: leave it as it is from the box (nice ejection handles there...) or go aftermarket?! My stash totals now 4 resin seats and 4 Phantoms, so I might just leave it at 50-50 :) Looking forward to your progress! Niki P.S.: what's the story with this special scheme, actually? Who/ what is "M. Andrews"? Edited April 27, 2013 by niki4703
Spectre711
I know what you mean about the seats. They are not great but then again they look better than some other kit seats. I have some resin seats also but since the canopies are going to be closed I figured I would used the kit seats. The cockpit detail is easy when you get decals in the kit for it. niki4703
And what about the story with the special scheme? :)
Spectre711
The Black Barons were the Marine Air Reserve Training Detachment stationed at Andrews AFB. This particular paint scheme was the Bicentennial Celebrations in 1976.

Spectre711
I did a little work with painting and removing some plates on the stabilizers.
Spectre711
I got some gray paint on this morning. Its not the best photo but I'm still using my phone till I get a regular camera.
Spectre711
While I'm somewhat happy with the color of blue I'm not with the masking job I did. I'll have to see if I can carefully remask and shoot more blue.
Spectre711
I finally got around to readjusting the blue so it's almost centered and I shot some Future on it.

Litvyak
Looking great so far! I had this sheet and used the QF-4 decals... I was thinking the other day that this would be an attractive scheme to build, alas I can't find the remainder of the sheet, so I'll just build it vicariously through you and enjoy the progress you're making! Spectre711
Did some more and had a little lifting in the stabilizer. Of course it is on the top surface and not underneath.
Fellow Hobbyist
What type of blue is used for the dorsal side of and tail?
Spectre711
That's True Blue FS 15102 in enamel Model Master. I tried to mix darker and lighter but ended up just using it straight out of the bottle. This was a good thing since I had to go back and touch up the edges and the nose.
