KursadA
I read about a new railroad model kit company today. They basically accept proposals for new railroad model kits, and use "crowdfunding" principles to prepare and release the kit if enough people are interested and willing to pay for the kit. They use rapid prototyping methods to develop the kit (they scan the item using a 3D scanner, and then print the kits using 3D printing). I for one will be watching them with interest - I'm sure we will start seeing more and more innovative model businesses like this in the future. I don't see why this model can not be applied to scale aircraft modelling as well. Their Web site is "http://www.flexiscale.co" (Not ".com")
Steve N
This one has already been around for a couple of years.. Click2detail Some of their products are a bit expensive, but I expect that as the price of the technology comes down we'll see more and more of this type of thing at prices that rival traditional cast resin aftermarket parts.
