Kev67
Would anyone have photos of the engine of the Gates Learjet C21A showing detail of the engine and engine cover open Cheers Kev Edited April 30, 2013 by Kev67
majortomski
Kev, "engine cover off" Does that mean with the front plastic or fabric cover off the inlet to the engine, or with the cowling off the top and bottom of the engine?
Kev67
Really just need photos of the engine and probably the position it would look when the covers are open for inspection, technically I would not have a clue what covers went where.
DonSS3
Try looking for Learjet 35 photos as well. I'd do a search on airliners.net first, then go from there.
DonSS3
This may be worth a look also: http://images.google.com/search?as_st=y&tbm=isch&hl=en&as_q=&as_epq=Garrett+TFE731-2-2B+&as_oq=&as_eq=&imgsz=&imgar=&imgc=value&imgtype=&cr=&as_sitesearch=&safe=images&as_filetype=&as_rights=not+filtered+by+license
Kev67
Hi Yes already looked by googling but could not find anything suitable, prefer photos of the actual aircraft with the engine mounted on the aircraft with inspection hatches open
majortomski
Kev you need to learn the teminology. The engine is mounted on a pylon that comes out of the fuselage. The engine is covered by basically three pieces of cowling; the inlet cowling, the ususally polished thing in front that smooths the airflow into the inlet of the engine. And the upper and lower cowling that provide and aerodynamic fairing over the rough outer shape of the engine. The cowling may or may not have smaller pannels that open to gain access to other things. Covers "cover" everything to keep birds and dirt off of and out of the engine. Do you want pictures of the little access openings open? Or do you want pictures of the cowling off so that you can see the whole engine exposed, mounted on the airplane? In the UK we use the term cover also meaning engine cover not just as a piece of fabric that covers something a cover as you state also means panel
Superheat
Kev, Just going through some old photos that I had recovered from a dead hard drive and found these. It is a 35, not a C-21, and has the Raisbeck luggage pod, but it does have Dee Howard T/R's like the C-21. No shots of the removed panels, I am sure they were back in the hangar. Hope they help (and it's not too late! Cheers, Tom
