spike7451
Had this pop up on my Facebook wall...Looks nice.. In 2013 the Tucano T1 aircraft will return to the airshow circuit. For 2013 the Tucano will have a desert camouflage design mirroring second world war Spitfire aircraft operated by 72 Squadron in 1943. Richard M
Pity they didn't use the correct squadron code "RN" if they are serious about tipping their hat to the history of 72 Squadron! Edited May 8, 2013 by Richard M
Dmanton300
Pity they didn't use the correct squadron code "RN" if they are serious about tipping their hat to the history of 72 Squadron! And on top of that, given that the MOD trademarked the RAF roundel around ten years ago to "protect it's integrity" the painters of the C1 on the fuselage and the tail flash seem to have invented the proportions! Substituting the cprrect "RN" code with "RA" is a particularly peurile piece of inter-service numb-nuttedness. Other than that. . nice scheme!
spike7451
If you look at the code it is RA(O)F...with the F on the other side of the roundal.
Dmanton300
I know, and it's wrong, it should be rn-f. A cheap little play on royal air force.

stevehnz
I'm really not worried about the codes, RA-F is fine by me, the roundels look OK to, the earlier BoB Spitfire camo'd ones retained the type D roundels under their wings which this seems to have done, some desert squadrons retained underwing type As after the type C roundels came in for better visibilty from the ground, if no-one brings out any decals soon I'll do it myself from generic sheets, I think its a stunner in every way.
