Anyone who's got Jake Melampy's "Modern Eagle Guide"..

Recommended Posts

Hi,

as I've said before on there forums, I've been unable to get hold of a copy of the book for considerable time and a re-print is also not imminent so I'm asking anyone who has a copy and has access to a scanner: would you do me a BIG favour? What I'm after is pictures of the main wheel wells (F-15E in particular), of the area that's usually covered by the second, forward door, the area where the wheel goes.

I want to evaluate the feasibility of making a wheel well set for the Revell kit as this area is a bit under-detailled and is blocked off instead of open at the forward end.

Jake, if you're reading this: I promise to buy the reprint of the book if that's going to happen eventually and I would even pay you a small fee if should you consider sending me copies of those pics personally...

Cheers

Jeffrey

With all due respect to Jake's book, there are plenty of very good images in the Isradecal Ra'am book. I wonder if there are similar images in the readily available book on the Baz? :hmmm:

See here

You're probably already aware of this Jeffrey but very little can be seen of the forward wheel well when the main doors are closed. Just saying. ;)

Thanks guys, I'll try and get in touch with Jake directly.

I had read about the IsraDecal book when the wheel well subject came up at some point earlier, but when I searched for the book I only came up with "out of print" notices, even on their own website. Must have made a mistake, searched for the wrong book....

I know that little can be seen, that's probably why R/M have simplified the area, but I'm not really happy with that moulded-on ram and that you see a "wall" at the front end. I've got pictures of the area with the forward doors closed so I know what the "look" will be, but if I was going to make a resin part I'd rather have the whole bay done up nicely (even if it's covered up).

Cheers

Jeffrey
