Flag79
Hallo everybody. I post some picture of my recently finished Academy Super Etendard in Argentinian Markings, with Eduard Photo-Etched parts. Every critique is well-appreciated. I'll send the photos and an article for submission. Thanks!

Flag79
It looks great.I have the same one with some eduard pe so I was wondering about the decals. Are theese acedmy kit decals and how did they performed? Thank you, Dragan. Decals are from the kit. I was a little bit frightened to use them because I read bad reviews on Internet. I can confirm that the decals are thick and tend to create a "silvering" effect, so they need to be treated carefully. In order obtain a smoooth surface, I polished the paint with the 8000 and 12000 polishing clothes that I usually use for Alcads. Then, I use a lot of Mark Setter and Mark Softer. This caused a problem on the decal of the left-wing flap (as you can see in the photo above, there is a "stain" near the third red "X", where the mark-setter simply destroyed the decal and some paint...), but I had no problems with the others. The other problem I had was with the anchor-shaped decals on upper wings. The tranparent part of the decals created an "opaque" effect which I was not able to set. I had this problem only with these two decals, which is quite strange. Due to these problems, I decided to paint the Argentinian flags and the yellow roundels on tailplane and not to use the decals provided. The kit itself is very nice, it was a quick-build, with only minor fit problems in joining the upper and the bottom part of the fuselage. I hope you'll have fun in building it and let me know when you'll finish it. I'd like to see your model finished!

72scaler
Wow I like to see Super Etendards especially if they are build in such an excellent manner! :thumbsup:/>
El pibe vitina
You did a clean and sharp model, I like it so much. I can only see a couple of inaccuracies, the tail's aerials should be white, not yellow, and the "live" Exocet tip should be grey, not blue. The finish of these aircraft were almost mirrow glossy, but it depends of the source of the light. Congratulations.
tdogg
Nice!!! Always had a soft spot for the Super E, especially in Argentine colours. I've always wanted to do one and will once I get my hands on a kit. Cheers!

I painted the tails aerials in yellow because I found a drawing on internet in which they were in this color...then I found some photos and I discovered that they were white... But it was too late! Thanks!
Floyd
A stunning looking model. I have one of these in the stash, hope it comes out half as good as yours.
Der Grüne Punkt
Great Job!, looks really smooth and tidy, don't worry about the accuracy issues, the kit is not accurate, the instructions are crap, now you have a excuse to order Aztec's "War for the Malvinas Part 2" that includes decals for the SUE. It's shame that Academy don't improve the Argentine decals for this model now that have this deal with Cartograph going on. I see you used some PE, am I right?, by the way the sun on the tail is gold not white, but only Aerocalcas took not of that and sadly they are OOP. Cheers!

You're right, I used a PE set fronm Eduard to enhance the cockpit and the seat, even if it is hard to see something after the building is complete. I had a look at the Aztec decal set you mentioned: really interesting. There are some A4 with nice schemes...
