Felinoid
This most likely belongs in Figure Modeling, but it will get more exposure here (I hope). I've picked up a Pegasus Models Dragonslayer kit, based on the movie Dragonslayer; it features a dragon(!) and the charactor played by Peter MacNichol in the film. It's a beautifully detailed kit, it turned out to be vinyl. The fit is great, in most cases without any filler at all. I soaked and scrubbed and air-dried all the parts BUT..... So far, I've only tried to paint the head (I'm dealing with seperate assemblies). In line with several books, I've tried primering with methycellulose (auto primer) and two other Krylon primers. Trouble is, once I move the part in the slightest way, the primer flakes off. The Pegasus Models website has no reccomendations, numerous e-mails have not recieved any answers. Any input is welcome! Felinoid Felinoid Well this is my first post, & I hope I am correct, but Vinyl can be only painted with acrylics, I am not sure whether anything else works. Enamel melts the vinyl usually. Good luck Ash
Yuri61
This article will help you the most. Yes use acrylics first as a primer then you can paint with enamels and or oils. http://www.starshipmodeler.com/basics/lj_vinyl.htm
