pkrasna
As I see forum is back on track so the progress can begin. Some posts I added were deleted so here are photos that were already published. Detailin the undercariage legs and compartments. Marked bulges must be sanded to bring the model to the original FM-2. Dryfit... Instrumental panel on its place... That's all for now! Primož
dnl42
Impressive what you're doing to this!

pkrasna
Small progress was made. First all incorrect bulges and intakes were sanded off. Instrumental board on its place. All major parts glued together. First stage of panting the interior parts. Reagrds! Primož
Ian Cooper
Jolly spiffo old boy. Nice job. Great to see a Roval Navy Wildcat in the making Cheers! Ian
pkrasna
Thank you Ian for your kind words! So let's go on... ...underside glass part glued to the fuselage. ...cockpit painted and weathered... ...also intakes needed some attention... ...glass parts sanded and dryfitted... ...and before painting were added masks on transparent parts. So next step is to paint the engine. Primož
pkrasna
Today we go on. Engine was painted and I must asay that it was a tricky job. Engine and engine nacelle are casted together into one piece, so applaying color is a delicate job. Primož
pkrasna
Main undercariage legs are finished and ready to paint. Betwen the process I decided to redo te engine nacelle shafts. Two small pieces made out of tin sheet and it looks better. Also two exhaust indententions were carved into the port and starboard side of the fuselage. Last modification before painting was to deepen the weapons openings and to seal the third or the outer hole in the trailing edge. Regards! pkrasna
As all the building tasks were done now it's time to paint the beast. I choosed a aircraft with serial JV884 and code B-1C from HMS Searcher with overall Sea Blue Gloss color and white stripes. Cleaning the surface with alcoholl. Vallejo primer for base color. White stripes sprayed and masked with Tamiy tape. For white parts I used Tamiya XF-2 Next step was to add light grey color to all control surfaces and inside parts of individual panels. This preshading color tehnique I used for the first time. See for yourself. Primož
pkrasna
So next step was to cover all preshading with blue (Valleyo 087 Dark Sea Blue) The result is a bit lighter than it should be. But dark grey filters will do the work. Primož
pkrasna
Decals are on and the weathering is almost done. For Weathering proces I used dark grey filter, black pastel powder to enhance the panel lines and sepia brown, redish brown and black washes. Main undercariage legs painted and weathered. Regards! pkrasna
I did some photos of the semi finished model on white background. Soon there will be a new member in GB gallery. Primož
pkrasna
Last step before finishing the model, was to rebuild and paint the propeler. Hobby Boss out of box propeler had cufs, but I nedded one without them. So from the spare box old catalina prop was modified. Primož
