Recommended Posts

The Douglas DC-3 first flew in 1935 it is not an understatement to say the DC-3 ranks among the best airplanes ever built. The impact of the DC-3 cannot be overstated. The airplane revolutionized the air travel industry. Passengers ride in comfort at unprecedented speed and range. Rugged and reliable, the DC-3 also found extensive use with military customers. Designated C-47 Skytrain, the airplane was a mainstay of the allied forces in World War II. The airplane also served in the Korean and Vietnam wars in various configurations. So well engineered for its purpose, hundreds of DC-3 airplanes continue earning their keep in commercial service to the present day. This print shows the DC-3 during the Golden Age of Aviation in beautiful Eastern Air Lines markings.
