gunnermo
Hi gang, Is there a free downloadable spreadsheet that I can get for my computer to keep track of my aircraft model stash? Don't have that many yet, but planning on it. Thanks again for your help.
kenlilly106
I made my own with columns for scale, kit number, etc. I tabbed it as well so I can separate aircraft from armor, figures, etc.. Ken
Holeshot
Made up my own too using Google docs. It's easy to do, searchable, and--best--since it's on the cloud you can access it anywhere from your smartphone.
thegoodsgt
KISS. Excel spreadsheet. Tip: If I had to do it again, I'd add a column in my spreadsheet for the price I paid for each kit, if only for insurance purposes. Steven Brown Scale Model Soup

wdw
There is some software, called "KitBase", out of the UK for tracking all of your stash and accessories. It costs $45 though but it seems quite comprehensive and looks like it would be good for people with lots of stuff. Check it out at: http://www.suisoft.co.uk/kitbase/index.htm I don't have it 'cause my stash is too small so I can't give you any first hand information on it.
Litvyak
I'd be more than happy to offer my services in helping to keep track of any Phantoms, Starfighters, Hornets and British post-war designs you may have in your stash... ;)
CorsairMan
One free resource is "scalemates.com" There is a very easy way to keep the stash up to date.

nfiler
I have used Kitbase now for a few years. Before that I did make a couple Excel spreadsheets but was never really satisfied with them. I wanted to be able to tie aftermarket, decals, and a photo of the boxart to the kit entry. I could not make Excel do that. With kitbase I have been able to do everything I wanted and probably could have done even more. Yeah, it does cost a bit, but like most things in life, you get what you pay for. I have currently 786 kits in the data base and a boxart image of every one. I don't see how you could do that with anything else. Norm
Sebastijan
I secod the scalemates.com page! Yeah you need a connection but the database it huuuge and the stash easy to manipulate
Tom G
I use Kitbase also and it is very easy to use with customizable fields. It also gives you the option to record accessories that are stored in the kit box such as decals, masks, resin, etc. That along with the ability to add pictures of the kit makes it very worthwhile for me. You can record purchase price, date and where you bought it. You can also print or export reports. Tom
Santini35
If you want to "take your stash with you" one option I have found for an android phone is Memento Database (http://mementodatabase.com/). It's probably not as in depth as kit base since its a general database program and not one designed specifically for models, but it has a free version that can sync with google docs for 2 databases and the pay version is only 9.99 which has unlimited syncing. You can set up all of your fields with drop downs, as well as pictures and what I like, barcodes so if you're at a show and are wondering do I have that kit, you can just scan the barcode with your phone and find out if you do or not. TimVereecke
Hi, If you want to keep track of your model stash go for www.scalemates.com With 86.000 products and aftermarket sets in the database we are the largest and most popular online stash management tool covering ALL subjects. And yes, it is free It offers some advanced features you can not find anywhere else. Here is a link to my online stash: Personal Stash - Tim on scalemates.com As a picture says more than 1000 words, here is a snapshot of my stash As you see, all kits related to a specific topic are nicely grouped. A nice boxart image helps identifying your kits. Off course we support having multiple kits. Next to stash management, you can group multiple kits into "projects". So if you build a kit with 2 resin sets, a decalsheet and a figurine you can group them together. Some more items: Adding a product to your stash is just hitting a button. When a kit is missing you can add it to the database yourself. (we have 1000+ contributors) We support Wishlist/Tradelist/Completed and it can be moved easily What I like is that, once you completed a kit and sent an article on ARC you can link your stash with the online article. It works if you have a few kits up to thousands of kits Suggestion, try it out Cheers, Tim Edited August 13, 2013 by TimVereecke
