KursadA
I am trying to figure out the colors used in the 1950's era US Coast Guard insignia as painted on their UF-1G Albatrosses. This is definitely not the same insignia that is currently used; and while the general layout is similar, the colors seem to be different. The anchors are certainly gold, but seem to have some dark shading on them. The central disc seems to have a dark background (see the larger version painted over the hangar door in the second photo). Can anyone provide a better picture of the USCG insignia from this era? This is the same version painted on the USCG PBMs and PBYs at the same period.
82Whitey51
Kursad, The colors could be the same as what appears on this old micro Scale sheet; http://www.ebay.com/itm/Microscale-Decals-1-72-US-Navy-1935-42-TB-Devastator-C97/360589809509?_trksid=p2045573.m2102&_trkparms=aid%3D555012%26algo%3DPW.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D298%26meid%3D423788635422318754%26pid%3D100034%26prg%3D1079%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D8%26sd%3D400546461223%
