norbert
Hi Started to work on something I was thinking about since a long time However, it seems so big compared to the head itself Does someone know the dimensions so I can check ? I have 245 mm high x 273 mm width x 276 mm beginning of HGU-56 cheers Norbert Edited August 29, 2013 by norbert
Newf36
Norbert: Don't know about specific dimension, but it looks right: Just look at a crewman, or a pilot wearing one of these. To the untrained eye, it looks like they were fit by Stevie Wonder - they look too big! I would love to see heads or even a crew with modern gear: Trumpeter completely botched this feature (and I'm sure others) on their Modern 1/35 Chinook crew, the helmets look like they fit! Good luck and count me in for 4 heads in 1/35 if you keep going! Marc
norbert
Thank you Marc Can somebody find the diameter of the connector on the back of the helmet, so that I receize it correctly ? Norbert

HeavyArty
They look awesome. Are you going to sell them? If so, I'll take a few.
Floyd S. Werner, Jr.
Hi last updates have a nice day norbert I think the back of the helmet does not come down so straight and curves under slightly. Erick help me here. I don't have one of these in my collections. Somehow I left the Army without "acquiring" one. Got three SPH-4s and two HSS mounts but no HGU-56 If he doesn't want to sell them maybe he will offer them to someone who would. Hmmm. Who would be interested in selling them? I wonder. hawkwrench
I' worked with Live Resin about a month ago supplying them with pics of the HGU-56 helmets and helo crewmbers in the cockpit and outside standing for a future release of helo figures in 1/35 scale for release in the winter according to LR. Stat tuned!!!
norbert
Hi So live resin will make an helicopter crew. hope there will be a crew of five a least. I asked for HGU-56 helmets to yaroslav on Armorama, but got no sign... My intention is to make these helmets sets in 1/72, 1/48, 1/35 and maybe 1/32 and the last one for the fun... This is now ready to downscale, what about a HGU-84 next ? will also have to prepare for the comming MH-65 kit... Have a nice day Norbert
hawkwrench
He didn't say how many would be in the set except that he will release them this winter. As good as LR figures are with detail, I bet they will be awesome!!!
arkhunter2002
...My intention is to make these helmets sets in 1/72... YES! Also, planning on making anything else in 1/72, say like firearms? Take care, Austin

I'll bet too, I saw also some tire design on their website... however, a crew of five will depict a Chinook crew with gunners I think Norbert

Take care, Austin Hi Austin For these, I must find a new micro 3D printing company, or buy my own printer, but it's an idea Norbert

Bo105flyer
Check this website out, a manufacture of the helmet with a 360 degree view of the helmet. Maybe you already have seen this but I thought it might help. I have friends who have this helmet but they are not local. I will see if they can measure it for you. http://www.gentexcorp.com/assets/gentex/360/helmet.htm Steve Sliger Greenwell Springs, LA

So any information will be welcome. Norbert
Rotorman
Norbert put me down for 2 sets of the helmets in 1/35 Oliver
Hajo L.
Just to be sure: You´re doing the helmets WITH a head in them right? Because otherwise it would be very hard to use them in my favorite scale, 1/72. HAJO
norbert
Hi Hajo I think I do it with the head in order to add it on figures, and without head to hang it or lay it inside the helicopter Norbert
Tgoetz
"prepare for the comming MH-65 kit..." Did I miss something here? Oh, and great idea! Would/will use them is 72 and 35. Another aftermarket item that I'd like to see are cyclic grips. Those are always so poorly detailed in kits and I think really dress us a cockpit. 11bee
Any thoughts about providing a set of NVG's to go along with this nice looking helmet?
hawkwrench
Oh yeah definitely! You gotta make some NVG's Norbert to go with these helmets. How about making some SPH-4 helmets with the NVG mounts too?
Rotor_head_Dan
Norbert, If you need any pics of the helmet and or nvg let me know. -Dan
