Johnopfor
My other planned project for this group build. The Hind E flown by Neall Ellis in Sierra Leone in 2001. Some painting has been done while the site was down, I'm still waiting for GPMGs from the UK.
pauly boy
The decals your going to use, "Hobby Craft, War on Terror", are they specific to Neal Ellis's Hind? Just curious. African brushfire war's are a big interest of mine and because the aircraft and subject is a a little off the beaten track info is not easily gotten. Great subject build! Thanks Paul

vince14
Looking forward to seeing this one, I spent time in Sierra Leone during the 'Nellis' era so it'll be good to see his Hind in model form. Vince
Johnopfor
Some progress has been made, the cockpit is done for the most part....
ChernayaAkula
Interesting subject! Thinking about it, I guess you could easily cover half of Africa's nations by just building Hinds for the GB.
Johnopfor
Progress update..... I've got the fuselage put together....... I cut out the pilot's door, I plan to use the door from the Italeri kit so that I can display it open.....
Johnopfor
A major update...... I haven't been posting updates until now, but I took some pictures of the build. First, painting the brown portion of the scheme..... The "wiglet"....note rocket pods and fuel tanks in the background..... The green painted and the camo done..... ....and now the decals on and weathering begun..... Unfortunately, I'm so far behind, I will not get this done by Wed..... :crying2:/> :bandhead2:/>
Johnopfor
Thank you Vince14 and Neo for extending the group build for a week, I should get this done by then. I have been plugging away...... Most of the work left is for the main rotors and canopy..... I wanted to display the Hind with at least the pilot's door open, so I removed the pilot's door parts from the Hobbyboss canopy and fuselage and I will use the pilot's door from the Italeri kit. ChernayaAkula
Opening the pilot's door is a neat addition. The lovely cockpit of the Hobby Boss kit makes it a worthwhile effort. Edited January 2, 2014 by ChernayaAkula
