GlennCauley
Hoping someone can help... I am about to embark on a build of the Revell #04300 Avro Lancaster B.Mk.I/III... which my father flew in. As a matter of fact, I am building it for him. BUT... the Revell paint codes are kind of useless to me. I have lots of Mr.Color lacquer acrylics, MM enamels & acrylics, and Tamiya acrylics. Below are the paint codes as listed in the kit instructions, and several of them are mixes. What I am HOPING to get are the FS numbers (or even RGB codes) of each Revell paint code... so I can find a single bottle of paint out there without having to mix. A ) Dunkelgrun, matt 68 dark green, matt B ) Erde dunkel, matt 82 dark earth, matt C ) 95/5 mix of: Schwarz, matt 8 black, matt + hellgrau, matt 76 light grey, matt D ) Gelb, matt 15 yellow, matt E ) WeiB, matt 5 white, matt F ) 70/30 mix of: seegrun, matt 48 sea green, matt + hellgrau, matt 76 light grey, matt G ) Braun, matt 85 brown, matt H ) Khakibraun, matt 86 olive brown, matt I ) aluminium, metallic 99 aluminum, metallic J ) 25/75 mix of: Eisen, metallic 91 steel, metallic + Rost, matt 36183 rust, matt K ) 33/67 mix of: Dunkelgrun, matt 39 dark green, matt + Khakibraun, matt 86 olive brown, matt L ) Anthrazit, matt 9 anthracite grey, matt M ) Silver, metallic 90 silver, metallic Edited October 9, 2013 by GlennCauley

GlennCauley
Thank you, yes I know that conversion site very well. The colour mixes that are not covered in there, so I am asking anyone who has build the Lancs and has gathered the proper paints to share their knowledge! :)

Stephen
The main colours are Dark Green Tamiya XF-81 Dark Earth Tamiya XF-52 Black Tamiya XF-1 Yellow Tamiya XF-3 White Tamiya XF-1 Silver Tamiya X-11 Aluminium Tamiya XF-16 Anthracite Grey Tamiya XF-63 HTH Stephen
mawz
Stephen's list is generally correct. The only caveat is that XF-52 Dark Earth is only vaguely similar to the colour the RAF used. Try Mr Color 22 instead.
Procopius
I usually use Modelmaster Acrylic RAF Dark Green and RAF Dark Earth, myself.
pminer
Try this site. I think this is what you're looking for: >> http://www.revell.com/support/paint-guide.html Edited October 15, 2013 by pminer
pminer
Please note: The last 2 digits of the Revell of Germany paint numbers on the .PDF (such as 32101...32104....32105...etc) refer to the 2 digits of the paint number on the Instruction Sheet. I.E....'matt 68' on the instruction sheet is going to be 32168 on the .PDF downloaded from the website I sent you. Hope this helps! Paul
pminer
Also...you may have to do some Googleing to find the correct FS number and RAL/RLM number. But this .PDF gives you options to look for you didn't have before. I have found all of my correct paints for my RoG models using this reference. agboak
Forget any idea of using FS or RAL, as these only approximate to RAF colours. Stick to the descriptions as given by Stephen above.
GlennCauley
For the interior green, which would be best to use: 1) MM enamel 1715 Interior Green (FS34151) http://www.model-making.eu/products/1715-Interior-Green-FS34151-Flat.html OR 2) MM enamel 2062 RAF Interior Green http://www.model-making.eu/products/2062-RAF-Interior-Green-Flat.html
Andre
For the interior green, which would be best to use: Door number 2. The US color is too "yellow" for RAF interiors. HTH, Andre
