1/48 Su-33 Sea Flanker

Recommended Posts

Zactoman;

I'm really glad that companies are dealing with men of your's and Yufei's caibre; that will ensure far superior products. After the way trumpeter screwed you (which I believe they did by not compensating you for your work on their 1/32 kit) I hope you will be justly rewarded. From our side, all I can say is thanks. Also, are their plans for a simple su 27b?

Since etched parts are in yellow, it caught my eye... I was expecting to see a etched part for HUD frame. I see neither plastic nor etched part for it.

HUD will be etch and clear film. That layer of the CAD was just turned off.

Will there be alternative parts for those that prefer their aircraft unfolded?

No...

Upper and lower fuselage parts will include the inboard wing section up to the hinge. The outer wing parts are separate. Stabilizers will also be multi-piece.

We won't know until we have plastic, but I'm confident the fit will be nice enough that this will not be a problem for those not displaying it folded.

Damn that's sexy! Man...cannot wait! Bring it!

I sure hope so! I guess everything will depend on how well the Su-33 does.

Chris,

To quote Kaiser Chiefs, "I predict a riot" when this kit comes out...start planning for extended runs and Su-27!

Any chances that a Su-27 will follow?

There are really enough Su-27 out there already. I wish a company could release 1/48 Su-35 and Su-34 twin seater as soon as possible.

There are only the aging Academy kit and its knock-offs out there currently in 1:48 scale. Though there's also the Hobby Boss kit that has been dragging through catalogs for a couple of years now, but when it will finally show up and how good it will be is anybody's guess.

There is never enough Su-27! :woot.gif: Academy kit has fair bit of issues, and it is reasonable to expect that HB kit, whenever it will be released, will carry over the mistakes done in the 1/72 kit. It would be an improvement over Academy kit for sure, but it will certainly not be "perfect".

If someone did a really good Su-27, lets say of quality of this Su-33, that would be the same as license to print money.

And in danger of being pedantic; there is single seater Su-34? :P
