Laurent
I'm just curious. I've voted "no" and I mainly use(d ?) Gunze and Tamiya acrylics. Edited October 24, 2013 by Laurent
FAR148
I only spot prime. On joints, seams and areas where I rescribe panel lines. Steven :)
oldpainless
I usually don´t use primer, but my friends do and certaninly that way the paint adhere better to the surface of the kit. Btw I only used tamiya and gunze acrylics.
RunsWithScissors
I think you need a "sometimes" up there, aside from "yes" or "no" :lol:/> I usually airbrush a base or prime coat of enamel before acrylics. I also sometimes use cheap generic primer from a rattle-can if it's a bigger model. Edited October 24, 2013 by RunsWithScissors
Rex
I have always washed and primed my models,,,,,,well, from the time I started painting them, that is I continued to wash and prime after changing over to Acrylics, mostly because some of the colors I "need" are Model Master, Vallejo and the Italeri The Aeromaster and PolyScale I have been buying recently don't seem to always need a primer coat,,,,,,,but, I still do it. you can get so many different colors of primer now, that sometimes the primer works as the actual "first paint color" when airbrushing a model
mirage@enthusiast
I have been using vallejo and using its prown prime..... need to be really clear and finger-print free surface otherwise it could peel of using any type of soft masking tape....
ch9862
Resin models - yes, I do prime. I also sometimes prime seams and other spots I extensively worked on. Other than that, no. This for models which I airbrush. Metal and resin minis (figures), which I paint with a paintbrush, I always prime.
Wolfgun33
I've always primed my kits and I use acrylics only.
xfire149
I've recently discovered Alclad Lacquer for priming and love it. It takes a sanding very well.
