Sauragnmon
Alright, so I'm in a bit of a situation. I'm planning to use a set of the F-15's tank-and-rail combo pylons on another aircraft, and sourcing the tanks is a slight problem. I'm working in 1/72 scale, and I'm wondering, as I know it's likely, which other aircraft they've been used on. The guy who's sourcing me the pylons has a pair from a Corsair and another from a Skyray. I'm doubtful about the Skyray tanks, but I'm curious if the A-7 tanks would be the right size/type for the configuration. It's odd to ask, but I'm going to use them on a fully-loaded model of a F-23, and a source told me it was going to use the same system as the F-15 on the inner wing hardpoints. I have an F-15C, but I'm going to be using those tanks on that model, and thus my problem arises.
Rex
since both the Skyray and the Corsair II use the same "Douglas Shape" 300 gallon tanks,,,,,can't you just compare those tanks to your F-15C tanks? otherwise, compare your F-15C tanks to this blog's drawings http://tailspintopics.blogspot.com/2011/07/douglas-low-drag-external-fuel-tanks.html
Lancer512
The F-15's tanks were used on the center station on late F-4s, which replaced the old Royal tanks. Not sure if any other aircraf tuses the same pylons, though.
Rex
oh, right, there you go,,,,,,,there is probably an oversupply of F-15 tanks out there in 1/72 parts bins I am not in Canada,,,,,but, try to find someone that has built two or more Naval Hasegawa Phantoms,,,,they would be breeding in his spares box
