Yes, they are the same kit. The moulds feature an early-production Jet Ranger but overall is fairly accurate. The level of detail is low compared to today's modern kits but it is still a nice kit.

It still has the front windshield shaped like a ski jump, sloped upward on the lower section? The vintage ranger looks like a duck face.

It is the only Jet Ranger in large scale. There is no AM for it that I know of.

If you are looking for a large scale OH-58, the 1/35 Academy OH-58D is the best out there. There is an AM update set for it to update it to a more modern version from Werner's Wings. Fireball Modelworks has a really nice decal set for them too.
